There’s an old adage that says you can have it fast, cheap, or done right, but you have to pick two. We’ve proven that old adage wrong by helping an internationally known grocery store chain come into compliance with price verification laws and doing it in record time with a comparatively small investment.
A large, international grocery store chain found themselves in a dilemma. They had an existing fleet of price-checking kiosks deployed in their stores that had been there for years. Now, due to changing local regulations, they found they needed to add more price-checking kiosks. Big problem. The particular model of price-checking kiosks they have currently deployed is no longer available and the vendor no longer offers an alternative. To compound the problem, the party that wrote the software for the price-checking kiosks was no longer around.
It appeared the only plausible solution was to remove all of their price checkers and replace them with all new devices AND spend time and money on developing new software. IT resources were already at a premium, so this was not an attractive option.
