The Scepter Pro represents the next generation in American-Made, Android-based rugged mobile computers from AML. Exceeding the display size of its predecessor, the Scepter Pro features a 5.5” AMOLED display with stunning 1080 x 1920 resolution. The clarity and resolution are unmatched by any other mobile computer in its class, and the larger screen puts more viewable data in front of the user.
The AMOLED display with integrated touchscreen is more durable than conventional TFT displays, which allows Scepter Pro to offer a larger display and deliver stunning imagery without adding additional weight.
Like our other industrial mobile computers, Scepter Pro is now powered by the Qualcomm® QCS6490, a long-life processor (supported through 2036) running at speeds up to 2.7GHz, delivering enough power and performance to handle even the most demanding applications. Complemented with an integrated Wi-Fi 6E WLAN radio, Scepter Pro will connect to any existing wireless network and is ready for future expansion as the need arises. Your future is secure with a processing platform that can handle the toughest of tasks and a Wi-Fi radio that is already future-proofed.
The Scepter Pro is rich with a variety of options such as a pistol-grip handle, multiple keypad options, and a variety of barcode scan engines to accommodate different application requirements.
It doesn’t matter if the host application is a legacy, on-premise system using a terminal emulation interface, or a cloud-based system utilizing a web browser or a dedicated APK, Scepter Pro is up to the task. There are no application requirements that the Scepter Pro can’t handle. It was specifically designed for industrial application requirements, and for all-day, every day use.
Scepter Pro comes packed with pre-loaded software applications that make setup, configuration and deployment a breeze. AML Setup allows administrators to create barcodes that are scanned to quickly configure devices. AML Lockdown restricts user access and permissions. AML Barcode allows users to manipulate the behavior of the barcode scanner. AML Device Manager is a paid option that works in conjunction with AML Setup to give admins complete remote access and control of their devices, regardless of where they are deployed.
Scepter Pro also comes preloaded with a pre-licensed VT100/VT220 terminal emulation client (Glink) as well as our popular data collection software, DC Suite. With our license-free DC Suite software, users can perform simple data collection tasks and gather data for importing into spreadsheets and host software applications.

Standard Factory Warranty
AML products are warranted against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one year from the date of purchase. The obligation of AML under the Standard Factory Warranty is limited to furnishing labor and materials necessary to return the product to its normal operating condition, or to replace the unit, at AML’s discretion, and only on a “to factory” basis. This limited warranty does not extend to any product which has been modified, misused, abused, or incorrectly installed.
Extended Warranty Plus
An Extended Warranty Plus may be purchased for eligible products, as denoted on the product warranty chart below. An Extended Warranty Plus REPLACES the standard limited warranty, and provides for the following additional benefits.
- Covers the failure of internal components as a result of normal wear and tear.
- Covers failure of external components regardless of fault. Generally this includes the case, LCD displays, keypads, overlays, lenses, and exposed connectors.
Note: This does not include the replacement of internal components as a result of abuse or excessive wear and tear. Printed circuit boards, scan engines, and other electronic assemblies are not covered if they are physically damaged. - Covers firmware upgrades.
- Four (4) business-day turnaround, excluding time in transit, when RMA number is properly marked on the outside of the box.
- Standard return freight (FedEx ground) included.
The Extended Warranty Plus may be purchased anytime during the term of the standard limited warranty. The Extended Warranty Plus is not an extension of the standard warranty, but instead replaces it. The start date of the Extended Warranty Plus is the start date of the original warranty. Note that the Extended Warranty Plus does not cover products that have been subjected to improper installation, or that have been modified or used for purposes other than what they were intended.
Android OS Statement
Today’s consumer devices are typically only supported for 2-3 years from date of release. While the typical life expectancy for industrial equipment is 5+ years, AML historically exceeds this mark substantially, although no guaranteed life span is made or implied due to the litany of outside factors that can impact a product’s life cycle. At a minimum, AML is committed to maintaining the Striker’s OS firmware for as long as the product is kept in production. This includes periodic updates for critical CVEs (Common Vulnerability and Exposures) that are applicable per the Android Security Bulletins. AML also extends that support beyond Android’s updates if their support ends early by manually patching critical vulnerabilities as necessary.
