As warehouses adopt modern web-based software, screen size is increasingly important. The Scepter Pro’s larger 5.5″ AMOLED display makes it easier to view inventory details, enter data, and reduces the need for excessive scrolling during daily workflows. With 36% more viewing area, the Scepter Pro makes a notable difference compared to the CK67. Leading WMS and ERP Systems such as SAP, Epicor P21, Synapse, Oracle, and Acumatica all utilize web-based interfaces for specific applications.
There are many reasons why IT Managers may consider evaluating alternatives to the Honeywell CK67. These include replacing aging hardware, cost savings, or launching new software platforms. The Scepter Pro is backed by responsive U.S.-based factory support and includes software utilities that make hardware refreshes a breeze. Being able to pick up the phone and speak directly with seasoned tech support professionals with intimate product knowledge is an important factor when evaluating different mobile computer options.
Both the Scepter Pro and CK67 have built-in software utilities that help expedite device deployment. For ongoing device management both devices are compatible with leading MDM third-party providers including SOTI MobiControl, Microsoft® Intune, AirWatch, and 42gears. While those platforms offer robust MDM solutions for all types of computers, sometimes a specialized solution like AML’s ADM mobile device management solution may be a better alternative. AML’s MDM provides the core management tools most warehouse operations need in a solution that is purpose-built for AML devices and backed by the same team that designs and supports the hardware.
Both the Scepter Pro and the CK67 use a Qualcomm processor platform as the core of their device architecture. The Scepter Pro uses the Qualcomm QCS6490, which offers one core running at 2.7 GHz, three at 2.4 GHz, and four at 1.9 GHz. In addition to increased processing capability, the QCS6490 platform is expected to have a longer production lifecycle, through 2036.
The CK67 uses the Qualcomm QCS4490 processor, featuring an eight-core configuration with two cores at 2.4 GHz and six at 2.0 GHz. This platform is well-suited for typical enterprise applications and reflects a balanced, mid-tier architecture. The QCS4490 will end production in 2030.
The Scepter Pro has an advantage in more demanding or future-facing applications, but both devices can handle standard data collection tasks.
When choosing between the two devices, the main factors to consider would be price-point, processing platform, and product life. While the CK67 is designed to be a rugged device, it generally comes at a higher price point and support for its processor will end in the near future. The Scepter Pro offers a high-resolution display, rugged design, and a premium-tier processor at an overall lower cost.
