FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AML Announces the Availability of the M7100
Wireless Terminal with RSS (Reduced Space Symbology) Codes

Euless, TX - June 14, 2004 AML, a developer and manufacturer of innovative, value-priced data collection products, today announced the availability of the its M7100 Wireless Data Collection Terminal with Reduced Space Symbology (RSS-14, RSS-14 Stacked, RSS-Limited, RSS-Expanded, and RSS-Expanded Stacked) scanning capabilities.

“Reduced Space Symbology is an important advancement in bar code technology,” said Teresa Stone, AML Marketing Manager. “RSS bar code symbologies are smaller than the standard uniform product code (UPC) and are perfect for labeling very small, space-constrained items, and for labeling items where there is a need to capture additional information in a limited space (such as lot number and expiration date). The addition of RSS scanning capabilities to the AML M7100 Series of wireless terminals allows our customers to move beyond traditional bar code technology to track their inventory with greater speed and accuracy.”

According to the United Code Council, “RSS has been implemented in a wide range of industries, including grocery (perishables such as produce and meat), retail, and healthcare. Companies and industries that are adopting these new symbologies are achieving new levels of supply chain accuracy and efficiency. Labor costs can be reduced while accuracy and speed are significantly increased. Better inventory management will help companies reduce or eliminate the cost of replacing and discarding outdated products.”¹

RSS (Reduced Space Symbology) is available on all AML M7100 terminals with a manufacture date of June 2004, or later. M7100 units manufactured prior to June 2004 can be upgraded to RSS bar code technology at a minimal charge.
